Art, Tea, Presence, Connection

❊ About

A cozy creative gathering for slowing down and reconnecting.

Art Cafe is a space to pause, create, and connect. Together we gather around rituals of art-making, reflection, and tea — not to produce something perfect, but to explore what’s stirring within us through self-expression and presence.

Our Community Agreements

These are the shared intentions that hold our gatherings:

Presence over performance

We create to be here, not to be good. We set aside our devices and distractions so that we can fully show up for ourselves and one another. We are present with whatever is most alive in the moment.

All levels welcome

You don’t need art experience to belong here. Art Cafe is designed for explorers, beginners, and seasoned creatives alike. Our prompts and rhythms are gentle, open, and invitational.

Compassionate participation

We respect one another’s stories, rhythms, and expressions. Sharing is optional; witnessing is generous.

Space to rest and reflect

Creativity isn’t always “productive.” Here, slowing down is integral — breathing, reflecting, pausing, and simply being are part of the practice.

Community care

We show up with curiosity, kindness, and care — not just for our own experience, but for the collective container we hold together.

Why Art Cafe Exists

Art Cafe began after my training in expressive arts, an experience that profoundly changed the way I move through the world.

Through that work, I came to see creativity not as something to perfect, but as a doorway. A way of listening inward. A way of being in relationship, with ourselves and our senses, and with one another.

In an expressive arts session, the idea for Art Cafe emerged — people gathered around art and tea. I visualized it with pencil crayons and hung that drawing on my kitchen wall, where it stayed for years — a quiet reminder of something waiting to take shape.

Eventually, the image asked to become real.

Art Cafe was created to share the magic of creativity and connection — and to build intentional community in a world that moves quickly. The setting may evolve, but the heart remains the same: a space to slow down, create, and belong.
